JOYAUX Simone

I’m described as “one of the most thoughtful, inspirational, and provocative leaders in the philanthropic sector worldwide.” I particularly like “provocative.” I see myself as a change agent, challenging and supporting organizations and individuals to be lifelong learners striving to make a better world. I’m also recognized as a social justice activist. In January 2020, I began my 33rd year as a fulltime consultant specializing in fund development, governance, management, and planning. Prior to becoming a consultant, I served as an executive director of a small nonprofit. Then I served as the chief development officer of a theatre company. In addition to my consulting work, I speak worldwide…in places like Australia, New Zealand, Italy, Portugal, France, Slovakia, The Netherlands, Mexico, and all over North America. I regularly serve on boards – often ending up as the chair of the Board. Currently I’m a board member of the Institute for Sustainable Philanthropy, U.K. I’ve written 3 books and contributed to multiple others. Philanthropy is my life’s work. My life partner and I have bequeathed our entire estate to charity.
